Through the use of advanced pipeline inspection technology, Roto Rooter is able to conduct remote inspections in nearly any type of pipe.
To begin our sewer camera inspection, our trained technician inserts a cable with a high-resolution video camera into the drainage system. These high-tech drain cameras are flexible, allowing them to travel through twists and turns in drain lines. The video footage is transmitted in real time so the condition of the sewer and drain lines can be assessed immediately. The monitor will relay the footage to the CCTV sewer inspection camera system which is saved for reporting and future reference. Depending on the findings we will be able to assist you with a sustainable solution.
The time it takes to conduct a complete video camera inspection will depend on the length of the drain as well as the condition of the pipe. If the length of the drain is only 50-100 metres the inspection should take no longer than 15-30 minutes. But if the inspection lengths are much longer or if the technician encounters offset joints, collapsed pipes, access problems or partial blockages the inspection can take much longer.
Heavy root intrusions into the pipe joints is probably the most common diagnosis from a video camera inspection of a sewer drain. Roto Rooter’s electro-mechanical drain cleaning equipment are renowned for clearing roots but should there be continual blockages and backing up of the sewer system we would recommend that the drain be repaired or replaced due to the damage caused by the root intrusion which could case sewer leakage.
A video inspection should be requested if there are continual blockages on the sewer line which would indicate that there are problems with the drain. These may be highlighted during the cleaning phase and can include getting a cable stuck in the line, mud being prevalent during the cleaning process which could indicate a broken or disintegrated pipe. The camera operator would with the use of the CCTV sewer drain camera be able to assess the condition of the sewer and with real time monitoring as the camera passes through the pipe be able to address and highlight any anomalies in the drain. The camera system will record the footage and a full report on the condition of the sewer line will be presented to the home or business owner with various options on the necessary repairs noted during the inspection.
